This is the sixth season of the Highland Hills Basketball Ministry.  Our first year we started with just under 40 players; blowing away our expectations.  The next year we had a few more players, and then in our third season (2006-2007), we had 61 players sign-up.

Here are some numbers from last year:

• 88 players in the league
• 37 of the 88 players are new this season
• 11 teams and 2 "pools"

It is exciting to watch the Lord work in this ministry.  It continues to expand and improve.

In our first season, we played with a flip scoreboard, and kept stats on paper.  Also, each team played two 30 minute games per night.  If you were around for that season, you know how much "fun" that was :-)  The next season, we went with team jerseys and continued to improve the scoring system.  Teams also played one longer game every week.  In 2006-2007 we introduced our computerized scoring system, developed by a couple of players in the league.  We also had eight teams and two divisions.  In '06-'07 season, we reached 80 players - 10 teams of 8 players each. This year, there are routinely three games on Thursday nights, and two games on Mondays, so we can fit everyone in.
